This had been on my list for ages and I had noticed workers back in about a month ago, lousy economic recovery (mumble mumble). But I've only been urban exploring my new kitchen installation recently so couldn't get out until now.
It's pretty much a shell with some deadly asbestos in, the site is huge and it's crushing to think how nice it would have been if it was mint.
Anway, can't find any history on the place lurking around the internet. I'm assuming it was built in the 70's by the style and current plans are to turn it into 100 flats.
Airlock into contaimated bits, had my p3 mask but couldn't really be bothered going in to see yet another empty room
These were the entry "Tubestiles"
Inside the ducting spaces, sans ducting
Floor Plan 1
Floor Plan 2, This was the same in both wings on all 4 floors
The lift machinery was still in
This was the only phone we found in the whole place
Arthurs Seat from the roof
and last but certainly not least a view of the most interesting bits of the builders canteen
