Yorkshire Evening Post - Press Halls.

'The company was formed as "Yorkshire Conservative Newspaper Company Limited" in 1865, and published the Leeds Intelligencer (founded 1754) for one year before it was renamed the Yorkshire Post. The company acquired the Leeds Mercury in 1923 and merged it with the Yorkshire Post in 1939. The company was renamed "Yorkshire Post Newspapers" in 1969. They also print other local titles, such as the Dewsbury Reporter, Morley Observer and Batley News.'

The controversial decision to close the printing press in Leeds and move all printing to Sunderland was made in 2011, the date was set for the end of March and as Leeds locals, it was always on our radar.

We spent far too much time thinking about how good this place would be. Not dissapointed.

The printing presses and inserting gear (rollercoasters for mice) are currently being sold and dismantled ready to go to Egypt- The building will remain but the 3 story printing presses will be gone in the next week or 2.
