Report - Annesley Colliery - 19.05.06

After getting the interest in colliery's recently and the target of hitting all the remaining headstocks before they vanish or are re-used...we took a drive to a sleepy little town called Annesley, home to the colliery which once served the area.

Access was reasonable, on site security with dogs...be careful...it is a dangerous site.

Some pics of the inside of the Bath House. There was a series of 'dirty' lockers, which led to the shower room, which then led to the 'clean' lockers. It was fantastic to find so much colliery property still in the locker rooms. I really enjoyed this site. The headstocks were not as fun to climb as chatterley, but the pit head baths were simply fantastic.
