Big thanks to Dweeb for arranging this and showing everybody around. It was twice as good because he told us what the miners would have done and what the different parts of the mine did.

The colliery itself is in a bit of a state now, but there's still lots to see. The bathouse is full of old boots, donkey jackets, helmets and other remnants of the colliery's past.

Nearby was the headstock, which was easily climbable although the wind made it a bit sketchy at the top! Finally it was into one of the old winding houses where the big winding drum remains but the rest has gone.

A sad end to such a fantastic industrial site.
