Borough Mill - Oldham - 06/06/2010
Well, history on this is very scarce. The Mill sits to the rear of castle mill, in the luxurious Hathershaw region of Oldham in Manchester.
The mill was last occupied by the NDC, "New Deal For Communities", and their now trashed prefab offices sprawl across the first floor.
The place is bare upstairs, with the first floor being a complete mess, pikey's have been in and smashed everything but a few remaining features are present.
The mill has been subject to a recent arson attack

This was an interestingexplore to say the least...
(I'll tell you more after a few pictures)
Starting on the top floor.
The lift pulley system (of which there were 3 in all)
The Rooftop
These stairs led me to the rooftop, where I discovered this protruding valve and also what I made out to be a water level measure?
I was also pleased to find this original slated section of roof.
Back down to the 3rd floor
The stairs here lead to the offices, it sure sounded inspiring.
But then you find this...
Although two reasonably cool items were found!
I then took this shot of this fantastic and original etched glass window...
But remember those stairs right? Well this was where the etched glass window was, there was also a table. When I came in there was nothing on this table so the following conversation ensued.
Dan: "That bag yours mate?"
Me: "Errmm nope and it wasn't there before?"
Dan (Searches Bag)
Dan: "Juice bottle, apples... must be an explorer"
Dan: "Oh look an axe"
Me: "A fucking axe? Im going now"
Walk into pitch black flooded basement, hear singing and puddle footsteps getting closer.
Me: "Upstairs now!"
So we waited a little, next thing you know this caveman appears pincers in hand, "WAAAHHHHHH" Us: "AHHHHHH"
After an awkward encounter with two pikey's, we explained why we were there, they explained there's, slightly puzzled by ours, we [parted ways, one last external shot as police were around the front looking for those two pikey's I mentioned, hence difficult to get external from the front. According to them, they were "Just doing't wirez init"
