The Marriott Hotel in the centre of Budapest was built in 1969 according to a design by the famous Hungarian architect József Finta. It was called the Duna Intercontinental Hotel until it was taken over by the Marriott chain in 1993. The entire side of the hotel facing the riverbank is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its views.

This was a pure chance encounter with @elliot5200 and @tallginge. We were originally heading for a church spire with scaff that we'd spotted but this looked much higher so we decided to wander in and try our luck. We made a good choice as it turned out to be a pretty decent roof with views overlooking the river Danube taking in some of the most well known sights in Budapest. The roof is set on 4 different levels with inter-connecting ladders. I lost track of exactly how many floors we went up but I'd say it's around 20 storeys high at the top.
