Built in the 1920's, this 19 story hotel was formerly known as the Thomas Jefferson Hotel, later the Cabana Hotel, and today the currently defunct Leer Tower in Downtown Birmingham Alabama. It has been abandoned since 1983. Several years ago the building was purchased with the intent to turn it into condominiums, but the project went into foreclosure.
It is one of the more awesome explores in Birmingham. Located directly across from a police station, we have managed to hit it several times.
