This is a location that has been very popular over the years and been done to death,I’ve explore this location around 3 times myself but only once managed to evade security.
history: camelot is an abandoned theme park located in the English county of lamcashire. The park's theme was the well-known legend of Camelot, and the park decor incorporated medieval elements. It was located on a 140-acre site near Chorley.
One of the roller coasters can be seen from the M6 near the Charnock Richard Services. However It has now been demolished after being stood dormant for eight years. The site was owned by The Story Group and was operated by Knights Leisure. The park featured many rides, taking a target audience of families and younger children; however, the park also boasted numerous thrill rides and roller coasters, including Whirlwind (a Maurer Söhnespinning coaster), Knightmare and Excalibur.
the park opened in 1983 and finally closed its doors in 2012 due to a decline in numbers visiting the park.
The explore: this was are second time visiting the site with a small group of friends (normally no more than 3 of us at a time).the first explore we were caught within 20 mins of walking around by a very friendly security guard who instructed us to leave, we knew going back that there was active security walking around site so we were extra cautious.we made our way around the site constantly hiding in buildings and bushes waiting for security to walk past us(there loud wallow talkies gave them away each time) and we managed to get onto the remaining roller coaster still standing and take in the sunset from the top.the secured car was directly below us looking up at us but was to concentrated on eating a McDonald’s to notice us. We also got to visit and abandoned hospital just before demolition work started not so far away that same night.
The majority of the rides have gone now and the rollercoaster has been taken down, we even went a third time sometime in 2018 but security has since been ramped up as within 15 minuete a we were caught by security patrolling the site with dogs(luckily another very nice security guard).
