About the site
Croda a global manufacturer of speciality and oleochemical products supplied to formulators in personal care, health care, home care, crop care, lubricant additives, oilfield, polymers and coatings, polymer additives, and textiles applications. The site had been open for over 150 years changing hands numerous times, the latest being croda after acquiring previous owners uniqema. Closed down in 2009 with a loss of 115 jobs.
A US firm that specialises in reviving redundant industrial land is planning a £35m makeover for a former chemical works on Merseyside.
The scheme includes creating new space for businesses that could attract 2,000 jobs and building.
