Deepdene WW2 Southern Railway Control Centre - May 2010
Special thanks to Urban Junky for finding this place open. A nice Sunday morning visit with Reef. After a long fight with dense woodland we realised that the entrance we thought was open wasn't open and that we could have easily avoided being scratched to buggery .... but where's the fun in that.
Anyway, UJ has done the history in his post and it is on SubBrit too so on with the pics.
Remains of the switchboard
Distribution Frame
All the internal doors still seem to be intact
Looking through from the switchboard room into the phone exchange and beyond
Emergency Exit spiral stairacase - 79 steps up
Room R9
Room R8
