Since it's doing the rounds again, after a certain crowd decided to bust in rather than trying the door.

The former Twinwood laboratory of the Royal Aeronautical Establishment (RAE).
During the 1980's this would have been for testing in the European Transonic Wind-tunnel Programme's cryogenic testing. Because of this the building has become known as the 3x3 (0.3metre x 0.3metre x 1.5metre) Laboratory due to the sizing of the Cryogenic ducting.

Discovered a whole bunch of photos I took of Tone Mills Dyehouse on my 30mm prime back in 2015 which I don't think ever got posted anywhere, these were some of my favourite shots I've got of the place over my numerous visits since 2012. It was always such a photogenic place even with the degredation and damage it took over time.

47972 was built to a Brush Traction design by British Railways at Crewe works in December 1964 as number D1646. It was allocated the TOPS number 47062 but was fitted with electric train heating equipment and renumbered 47545 on 28th November 1974. It was renumbered 97545 on 14th September 1988, was further renumbered 47972 in week ending 29th July 1989, and was named The Royal Army Ordnance Corps at the Ministry of Defence Kineton depot on 26th February 1993. It was transferred to (or maintained) by Freightliner (1995) Ltd in January 1996 as part of the privatisation of British Railways. Freightliner (1995) Limited was renamed Freightliners Limited on 7th June 1996 and 47972 was transferred to Rail Express Systems Limited in June 1996. Rail Express Systems Limited was purchased by North and South Railways Limited on 9th December 1995, North and South Railways Limited being renamed as English Welsh & Scottish Railway Limited on 10th July 1996. Rail Express Systems Limited’s assets passed to the English Welsh & Scottish Railway Limited on 13th October 1996. 47972 was placed in store on 12th November 1998 at Crewe Diesel Traction Maintenance Depot, being authorised for component removal the following day and moved to Crewe South Yard at some time for further storage. The nameplates were removed in September 1999 and it was moved to Crewe Diesel Traction Maintenance Depot at some time. It was sold to Fragonset Railways Limited in September 2001, was moved into Basford Hall yard in December 2002, and was moved by road to Carnforth for further storage on 8th January 2003. Fragonset Railways Limited became part of F M Rail Limited in January 2005. F M Rail Limited went into administration on 11th December 2006 and was soon closed down. 47972 was sold to West Coast circa April 2007, being deleted from TOPS on 8th November 2007. It was moved to C.F. Booth Limited’s Rotherham yard on 4th March 2010 where it was cut up, possibly later in March. It is seen in Central / Technical Services livery [the only 47 to carry this red and grey colour scheme]

A lesser-seen part at Cranebank British Airways Training Centre featuring some pipework and machinery. This room is located at one of the upper floors in the notorious plane simulator part.

I visited at the end of August 2022 I believe, not sure if it is still accessible. I believe it got sealed at some point towards the end of last year, but not sure of its status of it now. Hope that helps somewhat!
