Ok - quick recap of progress to date. Hyde ROC was opened in '62 and closed in '68

How we found it back in early Dec, the top of the remaining vent shaft was gone and the hatch wasn't attached at all - all the rest of the surface features were also gone.

Flooded to within a few inches of the counterweight.

On the 23rd Dec linerider, myself and Daz666 (plus another non-forum member) - from Preston college - pumped out the post and found a good deal more than we expected down there.

We started thinking along the lines of a restoration, and with this in mind met up with userscott, Rookinella, TheSmurfinator and Jester on the 28th Dec to get the last of the water out and clean things up a bit

(and rescue the keys out of the locked car of course)

There wasn't many pics taken this day - too cold and too dirty here's a couple from Smurf.

There was about half a ton of this sludge to shift - after much debate we think it came from the construction of the car park, down the far vent that was demolished to make way for it.

Back again on the 2nd Jan with Smurf and Jester again to decide what realistically was salvageable - everything else including the cupboard and tables was lifted out of the post and taken to the local tip - which kinda made me sad.

We did find the Glitto though! sadly it too was unsalvageable
