So third visit - first no camera and at night, second got caught. But it's all good now, a great walk in explore. Although that may have been the perfect weather and all of the Deer.

Couldn't find much history, I believe the site shut down 2010. Many of the larger buildings would have housed the driers for china clay quarried locally at Lee Moor. On my first visit most of the machinery was still in-situ, but now barely anything remains.

Just been here myself, such a cool place!
Did you notice that the house at the entrance, in one of the rooms a heater is plugged in and is ON? WOuld have thought all electricity would have been cut to this place..
May I ask who you got caught by? Did not see a soul or any evidence of one being there!

Ha, nope totally missed that - not the house but the power. That house seemed really out of place, did you see the mud oven in the garden?

Last time I went was over a year ago and there was security on site as they were removing much of the equipment. I think they have given up entirely on trying to keep people out.

I'm guessing a railway operated here at some point- are there any plans for the site? Looks pretty unvandalised.

Yep, used to connect to the main railway in Plympton for transporting the clay. Not sure about plans for the site, last years the demo'd some of it and removed all the equipment. Looks like they have even given up on keeping people out at this point.
