What a fascinating report! I've sailed past these many times and it's great that they may be saved. Cool photos, waking up to the Sun coming up over North Foreland must have been something.....

Lovely job and very well done and documented. You people have got some decent 'bottle' !

I was deliberately 'marooned' on one of those forts (along with others) on a joint service military survival exercise, some joker in the MOD had chosen well !

Was kept out there for six days with little to eat or drink, not long after the pirates had left the towers. Certainly all the cat-walks were still in situ, can't recall which towers we spent time on, possibly Knock John or Shivering Sands.
