The photographer in me is saying you have some good photos there.

Cheers - I do try and grab a couple of decent snaps - which is always easier when you've got a pretty culvert.

Interesting.
Takes me back to my youth and growing up here.
Early 60's it was certainly different.
The first outfall was the section from the Golden Steps as we knew them.
Hollow Brook was the local name for the section that came from the first tunnel and lead to the Newroyd mill, a small mill lodge, then dissapeared under the Orb mill lodge.
Under Huddersfield road, and reappeared in the Mill Bottom.
Before a concrete cascade and under the Majestic Mill, then on it's way down to Lee's Brook.
There is or was another culvert section here going under Lee's road.

Just for information and maybe assistance to other readers, we fished in several sections. True.
The first section we could actually cast lines up the tunnel and catch trout.
A well kept secret.
Now, just above this section were two small maintained ponds, that we understood to be breeding ponds for fish.
Heaps of little hedgerows and paths at that time.
The shots show a well cleaned up tunnel network that scared the hell of us as kids.

I know from my fishing days, that there were many other catchment areas and some fantastic infrastructure that had tunnels and access points for controlling water flow and sluice gates.

Someone must have the construction project data somewhere?.
