Hi All!

Opened on 8 August 1910 by the London and North Western Railway to handle the increased number of trains and passengers following the opening of the Styal Line in 1909, it served as a relief station mainly used by extra trains and suburban services to the south of Manchester until it was closed to passengers on 28 August 1960. In 1970, the site was re-opened to serve as sorting office for the Royal Mail before it was closed permanently in 1986. It has remained that way to this day. You can read the details here on Wikipedia.

Visited here with Tom Sherman and NoodleThesis. Was not really looking forward to this but proved to be an interesting explore. I think we covered everything we possibly could as we spent nearly 3 hours in this place going over it with a fine tooth comb!

Sorry for the picture quality, no where near as good as NoodleThesis and really need to learn how to use my d5100, but that's another story!
