Visited in May with Kitty

Was originally planning on exploring somewhere else in the area but stumbled across this place on the way.

Couldn't find much history on the place, tis just a place were building construction was organised.

Someone else was already in the building when we got in, could hear them whistling but they soon disappeared.

~ enjoy :)

You're not wrong there, Styru. I looked round it before they demolished the loading bay. I did post some pics up here, but half of em were rubbish, too shakey, so I'll dig some out from my 2nd visit and post them. A far as I know it was in use til around 2004ish. Since its been shut its been set on fire so many times I've lost count. Coltron mill down the canal looks a good explore, if the owners will let you in.

I've eyed that building up in the past from the canal side thinking it was derelict only to find its still in use...

Building used to be BBCS Warehouse (cant find much history)

Coltron i believe are a local company so maybe more chance of an arranged visit?

Its a fair size too so would be a great explore with all those levels.

Its used to make kitchens. I know that much from people who know the firm I go on the canal boat with, the factory staff always phone up trax fm as coltron kitchen staff etc. Oh and also sophie the rat looked round it, spoke to them nicely, they gave her a hard hat to wear and let her have free run. It makes kitchens, some of it is used for storage, though.

The building in your photo is the coltran factory and it designs and makes educational and reltail display units out of metal and wire and the building is about a 100 years old.
