Octel Bromine ceased production in March 2004.

They extraced Bromine from the seawater did a bit of magic, mixed it with ethylene to make dibromoethane which was a key component in unleaded petrol.

Cheers mate. Yeah i did get savaged. Didnt seem to be any secca on site. The car was there and the caravan but no signs of anyone.

Until i was on the water tower! Two torches lit up the site, one on a strobe lol headed straight to the tower.

I heard them messing about with the door sat it out in the darkness for nearly 2 hours until they went. 'Dont think anyone is in here you mustve been seeing things' then i heard the crunch of the brambles n knew it was time to do one! Theyd moved the rock i used to keep the door wedged open tho the gits. Was very tight getting back out

This place certainly looks more appealing as time goes by. Superb report hun

It really is a decent, relatively chilled out one with quite a lot to have a nosey at. Even though looking back at that website you can see a lot has gone sadly. It's amazing all this is still there and nothing seems to have been smashed up. There's the ofd bit of grafitti but not much just the usual swastiki or mandy loves dick type scrawls

Access was a bit hairy to be fair though. For me at least anyway.

To be fair it looks like most of the interesting bits survived the chop anyway! I know I always seem to ask this but any luck with the canteen block?

No :-(

It was pretty well sealed tbh however there was ladders onto the roof but I never checked it out. I may do a re visit as its only 20mins from work and I missed a few bits.
