Another hill town in Italy, the grottos here allegedly have links with the masons and the Knights Templar. I would usually be extremely sceptical of such claims but the guide for these grottos, Roberto Mosca is a published archaeologist and Osimo was in past centuries an important town where such groups could conceivably be found. There are a number of sets of tunnels, not interlinked, and I only visited two - others are privately owned and not accessible. There is a web site for the society that runs the tours.
Website for OSIMO SOTTERRANEA
Site No. 1 - below a manor house now owned by one of the major families in this region
Not a great shot but you can see masonic symbols carved into the wall
Site No. 2 - entrance in the entry hallway of some flats.
This is the back of an arch in one of the original city walls.
