Report - Padeswood Hall - Buckley, North Wales - October 2023

[MK83]

Padeswood Hall was built around 1865 by William Fiddler the owner of Padeswood Colliery. It seems to have been his residence until the closure of the colliery around 1900. From that point there isn't a lot of info on the place other than a couple of references to other private residents of the hall in the years upto 1949.
In 1949 the Site of the colliery was bought by Hanson cement and the large cement plant was built on the site of the colliery. At some point the hall was converted to offices and used as some form of safety training centre relating to the cement works.

This place has done the rounds on youtube and fb. There isn't a huge amount to see and most original features have been blanked by the office conversion but there are some bits remaining. The basement is full of interesting retro computer gear and thousands of files although pretty flooded and mouldy.

Funny I did this few months back, getting in through a rather tight window on pitched roof.
Noticed on fb recently some hoon had completely smashed a massive window out, I take it it was like that on your visit.

Have said it a dozen times before but makes me sick when there is a way in but just requires a bit of thought & skill but people find it easier to put a brick through window!

Anyway trusting that it wasn't you that's a decent report.

Thanks, No the window defo wasn't us, i know the window you mean, it was boarded on our visit but we found other less obvious access that was pretty easy and no vandalism was involved!

That may of been the one we left open when leaving lol

If the one you left open was a heavy low one that swung upwards then yep that's the one we used. Thanks for that! 😂
It's ridiculous that someone would smash a window when one was already open, only took 2 mins of walking round the building to find it.

Amazing how many people go for the smash and grab these days isn’t it. I find it remarkable also that some seem to think that if they’ve scaled a few tricky fences and put in effort to get on site it gives them a licence to just smash their way in.

It looks like there’s some interesting stuff in that basement though. Good report OP.

Not all windows are smashed for entry though, local kids just like smashing stuff up. Not saying that's the case here, lack of internal damage suggests it's goons to me.

Nice to see an intact Microfiche viewer, I rarely see them.

went here a few days ago and got kicked out cause the cement factory neighbouring it owns the property and I was trespassing I think all the windows are bordered/locked apart from one open one at the front, but its hard to get into because there's a radiator right behind it. I also think I accidentally walked into a random person's garage.

How did you manage to get spotted? You can just duck through the bushes right next to the building well away from the factory and the occupied house, the place backs on to an empty field hidden from the road with a public footpath right through it!

If you choose to walk down the access road in front of the cement plant you're just a bit silly tbh.

I had been around there for a while but for genuinely less than a minute I stood round the front of the hall and someone happened to of pulled up nearby and spotted me
