I have only seen this on here the once before by Jane Eyre:

http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/salvation-army-citadel-barnsley-march-2015.t96082

and being aware of the location I decided to pay a visit in April.

An interesting entrance and exit in full view of a busy high street, barbers and pub.

The building was built in the early 1900's and has been the home of the Salvation Army for the last 100 years. The building has been vacant since 2004 and the Salvation Army remained without a home in Barnsley for four years until relocating to nearby Wombwell. During the move several memorial tablets were rediscovered that had been kept in storage. The tablets dated back to May 1924 and remembered 11 men who had served in the local regiment, that had been a part of the citadel.

Whilst in Sheffield yesterday I noticed the Sheffield branch building which has been mentioned on here before but it looks to still be pretty inaccessible, one to keep an eye on perhaps. Also whilst in Sheffield I paid a visit to the infamous Grosvenor Hotel. I won't bother with the report on here as it has been covered plenty of times before but if anyone is interested it is already up on the blog.

Haha, you can see the hole where I went through the staging/floor! The dead pigeons were in abundance weren't they!

Thanks for the mention and good photos, nice work! :)
