After emptying and sorting through my CF cards - I thought I'd upload a few from Steetley (I know its been done to death, but if you have a hobby horse - you may as well beat it :gay ..)

Some turned out reasonable and others uber-shite -I'll let you decide which is which..

First up, a bit of info which everyone will prob already know (I cant remember which sites I picked bits up from but credit goes to them..)

*1937 - site aquired by Steetley, New developments allow magnesium to be produced from sea water.
*1938 - plant opens and expands rapidly due to demand from World War 1
*1961 - Chimney built which is seen across Hartlepool
*1962 - Worlds largest settling tank built on site
*1967 - Over 5000 tons of magnesium produced a week
*1997 - Britmag takes over the site from Redland
*2002 - Britmag goes into administration and the site is reborn as CJC Chemicals
*2005 - CJC Chemicals also falls on hard times and the area falls into disrepair
*2007 - Majority of site demolished, now awaiting planning permission to be used as private housing

Heres how it used to look - back in its prime..

Having had my camera for about 3/4 years - this was its first proper outing

just incase you're wondering - these were taken on two different occasions hence why some are in fog :tumbleweed

I definetely going to return and get my arse up the chimney before it gets knocked down..

Yours, fumbling with the camera.
