explored with a couple of mates as a plan B

looked promising from the outside this one, with a quick walk round the outside we found the easiest way to gain entry, once in we headed for the stair well and made the climb to the roof, once nearing the top it soon became clear that demo had moved on pretty quick, with the roof gone and the last stair well covered in rubble it looked like a bomb had gone of.

we made our way across the demo site up onto the highest part of the scaffold to be greeted with a view of nothing but sheeting, made for a right balls ache for taking pictures, and to be honest, from when OFE done it, its not really worth the effort now.

Taberner House was built between 1964 and 1967.
It has its upper slab block tapering towards both ends. It was named after Ernest Taberner OBE, Town Clerk from 1937 to 1963.
It's going to be demolished to make way for a mixture of new-builds, the tallest of which will be the same approximate height as this.

"The 1960s office block formerly the headquarters for the council is now being prepared for demolition.
Erith Contractors Ltd has been awarded the contract to undertake the demolition and site clearance of Taberner House. Work is planned to start from 20 January for approximately 45 weeks with a completion date of mid-December 2014.
