Becket Grammar School was founded in 1929 by two priests (Fr Aidan Kenny and Fr Bede Horwood) from the Order of the Augustinians of the Assumption. The school was for boys only and was based on Wilford Lane, now currently occupied by the Upper School.
The Becket School was a larger than average 11-18 coeducational Roman Catholic comprehensive school, it was formed in 1975 by the amalgamation of two schools, Corpus Christi Grammar School and Becket Grammar School for Boys. The school is located on a split site, with the upper school located about a mile and a half from the lower school. The school served a very wide catchment area and was heavily oversubscribed with around 1,051 pupils.
Not the most thrilling explore, we were pretty gutted to discover the pitches were being used for football tournaments which meant no playing on the gym equipment, but the site was good for a quick mooch, its been pretty trashed and is still being used by the police for training...
