Well a number of people have had an eye on it but admittedly the motivation for me getting it done was when Speed and Dweeb posted their report seeing the beauty inside. Within hours of seeing it Goan, Horus and myself headed on in, these 'windows of opportunity' dont hang round for long.
Little bit of history:
- 1935 to 1974: used as variety theatre and cine-variety.
- Last use as Mecca bingo closed 1996
Loads of famous bands played there, My mother in-Law saw The Beatles there on Friday 22nd November 1963, the day JFK was shot. The last rock band to play there was Status Quo in December 1974
work is due to restart any day now to get the place reopened, I look forward to that.
