Another dockside silo, this time one for storing grain. Built by White Tomkins & Courage, it would have been filled from ships berthed at Stanley Dock. A railway siding underneath could then be used to fill hoppers with grain for dispatch to various mills for processing.

Visited in 2006 by myself, Turk, Dweeb and Reaperman in the first expedition onto Stanley Dock. The silo was a bit ropey, in a way like Millenium Mills which I did for the first time that summer. It was rusty, shakey and generally dodgy, but we made it to the top. The big gearwheel was cool - perhaps it should be saved at some point!

It's due to be demolished at some point for the dock's regeneration. These pictures were mostly taken in March 2006, but most of them weren't posted anywhere at the time. I've finally got round to sorting them out for my website so thought I'd do a belated report.

More here.
