This house was built in 1704 for the Molyneux family on an estate of 4000 acres. The house has been used a hotel, a school, a home and function rooms in its time. The hall eventually fell into disrepair but was saved in 1980 by John Hibbert, a local resident, who bought it and spent £100,000 repairing it. This building is a grade I listing and can be bought for a hefty £3 million!

For this visit, we rang Mr Hibbert who was very happy to help. He met us at the gate, took us on a tour around the house telling us the history of each room, left us to take pictures and ended the visit showing us old pictures of the original owners and the house as it was then. Very lovely man, amazing house!

Well in Mr Hibbert, he appears to be a tireless stalwart (ex owner apparently) of of this superb old marque, letting folk in to see the place with added information...some nice photos in your report mate !
