This place is amazing - can you believe people have seeked planning permission to convert it into flats and a hopping maul!
At the begining of its life, it was Sleafords Maltings, but over the past few years it has lay dorment in Sleafords Skyline! Even Padleys "famous chicken factory" in Lincolnshire owned it for some time, using it as a big chicken farm for some years.
Visited with Red Hot Panther,
We got a lucky break in the entry stages, luckily enough one of the large doors which use to be used to fill trains up when this used to be a maltings had been left open. We were then able to gain access to any building in the complex!
Unfortuatenly, as this was originally only a recce, our visit was cut shut.
We hadnt noticed the security camera's up on the walls, and even though no security is on site, they couldnt have been far away! We suddenly heard a metal gate open, then a cough from beneath us, and that was enough for us to "slip away"
Luckily as we exited, the security wagon of choice "ford fiesta" crept round the corner, but we were two locked gates away from them!
Fantastic explore though - hope you enjoy the pics!
