There are some nice buildings in Widnes, but this isn’t one of them: Broseley House is an undistinguished 60s office block near the centre of town (53.364156, -2.730966) next to a leisure centre and a large ASDA. The ground floor retail units are partly occupied but the main offices above have been sitting vacant since at least 2014 when the place was sold. Judging from the signage the last occupants included some type of teaching centre and a trades union. The local youth have been in, leaving the remains of McDonalds meals and holes in some of the plasterboard partitions. Otherwise the place is not in too bad a state considering all the open windows and pigeon population roosting in the suspended ceilings. As expected there isn’t a whole lot to see apart from empty offices - not even a safe, and there’s almost always a safe… The pictures start in the basement and finish on the roof.
A few views from the roof. St Pauls Church with the Runcorn Bridge to the left, the new Mersey Bridge nearing completion, and Fiddlers Ferry power station which tends to dominate the horizon in these parts.
