The Carlton Theatre opened it"s doors in September 1928.Designed by Blackmore & Sykes & was run by Hull Picture Playhouse LTD. The lavish designed building, topped with a golden globe had a 1600 seat capacity. Each of it"s twin towers was an entrance into an interior with marble mosaics, ornate painted plaster panels on the walls and a Venetian glass sliding dome.

It continued as a picture house up until 1967 when it was converted to bingo use right up to 2008 when it was under the control of mecca bingo.

I"ve been wanting to do this for a while but for some reason everytime i mention a trip to "Ull" it falls on deaf ears so i"ve made a few solo visits recently which have been eventful

Anyway i managed to persuade *********** to come over and spend some time in the fair City. Luckily he"d never seen Police Camera Action so had no preconceived ideas of the locals ;)and i promised him we would start in the dark & return in the dark so not to affect his night orientated body clock along with the mention of a rooftop :)

Nice little mooch through the Asbestos room of "Death" that was ruined early by a Police Van parked outside which caused us to rapidly lose interest and progress to location number 2.

Challenging conditions as it was early doors, hence lenser lit. What light eventually came through the small windows just created more exposure issues, but i think we managed ok. TBH i didn"t feel it in here, not sure why? anyway enjoy.

:thumb to NC cos he"s a good laugh & it"s nice to be able to rely on someone if it goes T"s up when he"s not :pram or :sleep :D

I apologise for the single "RAW" pic heavy report ;)

Nice one, love that turret looking part at the front, thanks for sharing.
Yeah it was nice apart from the early risers across the street opening their bedroom curtains looking directly in where i was :)

Was wondering what happened to you after the PM"s re Clayton ? never heard back from you, if you wanna PM me mate ?

I found that Wimbledon photo collection in the void under the circle and pulled it out to have a look at, there was loads of other stuff in there too.

Really good shots there. Nice!
Cheers mate :)

Good lad on the frame:) Bit random wasn"t it, must have been the Managers/esses or something ? Didn"t really get chance to root about, as once the light came up the Police were outside......might have had something to do with a certain gentleman on the roof maybe ? who knows, plus we were still asleep i think lol

Cheers mate
It's a very colourful place, especially downstairs. Even the HDR crowd would have to tone it down ......maybe :) does not help with a 850L lenser shining on them seats :)

Not invited ? text conversation on July 31st re doing Clarence Mill etc "ULL" ........ Not keen on that mill in hull m8, looks boring

So didn't even go myself till Sept and you've been busy since anyways. TBH nobody I asked wanted to go till NC

No page 3 I've retired sorry lol

As for the Theatre I only just got in mate, I don't think you'd get in TBH and if it goes wrong it's a back or spinal injury
