The history of Denbigh Asylum has been done to death in past threads, but for anyone who isn't sure, Denbigh Asylum was opened in 1848 as a means of offering care to welsh speaking patients who according to reports where mistreated while committed within English asylums. At it's peak Denbigh Asylum could house up to 1500 patients. It closed in 1996 around the same time as many other asylums around the country. Despite some demolition and ground clearing, much of the complex still stands, waiting for the water damage and the locals to pull it to pieces.
On with the pictures from a nice relaxed (if not slightly cold) day, visited with TheFlu24
Some rather scary decay
Which TheFlu24 couldn't resist inspecting
One final bonus pic because it amused me. Simpler times ^_^
Hope you enjoyed my first report
