So there are a lot of reports up about the Carriéres of Paris (catacombs) and although I'm sure I will get around to posting about them too, I though I would post about a topside place in Paris, the Entrepôp de Pantin, a former shipping storage warehouse located just outside Paris on the north east, it was apparently a transhipment to and from North Africa.
It's two large 5 story buildings side by side with a connecting loading dock in the middle. Massive cargo elevators and mainly empty floors. The site has been tremendously grafted, but some of the pieces are of quite a high quality. I've been back a few times and the art on the walls changes constantly. Especially on the front of the building.
We went back in February so it was the thick of winter and the canal had frozen over. It was bloody cold, but the excitement in our blood kept us warm as we scaled the building and found a fucking up up up. The views from the roof were stunning.
I went back a few days ago to see this amazing place again and it has become very secure since my initial visit. There is a large fence and a plethora of security signs on all corners and draped from the exterior upper levels of the building. I think exploration of this site is no longer possible.
