A nice grubby grimey place from the archives, this sort of British industry is the stuff I absolutely love and this place ticked all the boxes for me. It's just a shame it's in Willenhall, I've been up and down and across the length of Britain over the last decade and it's up there with Oldham on the list of least favourite places I've ever found myself.

George Dyke set up a forge on Doctor's Piece in Willenhall in 1830 and operated at that site until 2012, when the business moved into a new premises in Darlaston. Interestingly, in January 2020 George Dyke went into administration and was threatened with closure however a buyer was found for the business at the end of February and they are still trading.

This place was dirty and filthy and had huge presses in it as well as a multitude of 'adult literature' which seems prevalent at such locations. The workshop at the rear of the site looked as if they had simply downed tools and walked out for the day it was that intact, however other areas had been quite heavily stripped.

The factory was demolished at some point in the latter half of 2015.

A square head Colchester Student and a Fobco Star drill. The latter goes for big money these days.
