I have always been in love with Hartwood, since first seeing pictures on Dark places years ago. This week we managed to see the parts we missed on our rushed trip in the summer, including mortuary, laundry and boiler house. The wind vein was sitll fantastic a second time round, and it was a shame to see the kitchens were stripped and ready for demo. Looks like we just cauh=ght it at the right time.
Early computing on the washing machine. The card had slots that were read by relays.
The mortuary slab is unique, and looks to have been made of a sheet of pewter!!
Beautiful tiles had been revealed with the removal of a cupboard. Why would anyone ever panit over them??
