Been on my list for at least 2 months now,
well worth the wait.
the walk through Inhospitable was a struggle due too debris, but the waters were clear.
the works was easier, but the waters were stagnant with lots of :turd saying that the air was very clean.
visited with, @ACID- REFLUX & @Coolboyslim
thankyou for accompanying me on this & been my 2 lighting bitches for some shots. :D:p

Inhospitable
Inhospitable is a 700yd culvert which carries the moss brook beneath Collyhurst,
the infall consists of a 15ft brick arch
this changes too a10ft brick arch which continues towards the outfall
which consists of a 7ft brick pipe built 8ft up in a retaining wall.
Halfway through the culvert theres an overflow chamber with a manual operated penstock,
once the flow gets too strong the penstock drops blocking the culvert
this causes the brook too divert along the works
something which seldon occurs.

the Works
the Works is a 700yd overflow which passes alongside and below Inhospitable,
consists of a 10ft red and black brick pipe.
This exits the overflow chamber by droping down 2 sets of steps the latter been steep,
once at the bottom you are at least 70ft below the surface.
Both the moss brook and the Works discharge too the Irk,
(one of Manchesters 2 secondary waterways).

Tomatoes used to once grow at the outfall from the seeds gathered from peoples p00p, I once took some home to eat, and infact they were rather tasty due to their organic nature :thumb

Good to see pics of the place again, we haven't had a meet up in here in ages now

Well done for not breaking your ankles in inhospitable

The works is a personal favourite so it's always good to see her again

Lmao @stranton. Acid will be first to buy. Then I will get the download so I can play it in the drains when we go and then get you to do a live performance lol. Your first lyrics should be "Trains in drains who ever knew that you would hear them in all this poo. But wait a minute it's not true cause after all its come from you, strantons the name and I'm your bane cause all these trains are in vain" lmao
