Shortened down history:
This building is Grade II listed. It was built in 17th century. The main building has been abandoned many years. However the outbuildings and extensions were active until 2018. There were many poor quality extensions made over the years that have lead to the decline of the building as a whole to be approved to be converted into a new house.

I am fully aware I’m not the first explorer here however I am quite certain I am the 1st to post on this forum. My boyfriend was very proud that he found this on Google maps himself as we was planning to explore many locations in the area. This was our main location of the day. Anyways let’s just say this is our favourite location by far and will stay that way for a long time. I mainly wanted to go here for the swimming pool and the staircase.... but once I was inside I just lost my mind around the whole place. I ended up exploring the place partly on my own because I just wanted to take in the interior design. There are some parts of this place that really made me question if the place was abandoned. All of the power worked as well which was concerning as there are many leaks from the ceiling.... there is buckets placed all around the mansion to catch the dripping water! The carpets are very soggy so the buckets haven’t been emptied for a very long time. This has made the floor scary to walk on in certain bits of the mansion. The place has got a somewhat eerie feel to it and I was expecting for an old couple to walk out of her room and say “what are you doing in our house?”.... we kept on hearing very loud bangs all around the mansion. @Lewis Merrin had many jump scares..... The access is a dream - a walk in walk out kind of place. I love the fact that there is no vandalism and it’s all just natural decay. As far as I’m aware there is no security (at the moment) but I can see this location becoming very popular so that won’t last long. We was here for a couple of hours and then made our way to our next location. Enjoy the pictures....

Good find and well covered. All that stripped wood is unusual.

A bit of recent history. When the former owner Ms Gina Gratton-Story died in 2010 the house was inherited by two charities, Leonard Cheshire and Lady Ryder of Warsaw Memorial Trust. It became a house of multiple occupancy until they applied for and were granted planning to convert it. They sold the house in February 2019 for around £2.5m to a newly formed company, Luddington house Ltd. Final details of the planning were granted in late March and work is expected to start soon.

Great post. I was speaking to your boyfriend about this place, I had a little look about a year ago but part of the site definitely seemed occupied still so I didn't go in! Makes sense if it was sold a few months back.
