Visited with Maverick.
Having done Pyestock 3 times before, there was only a small group of buildings in the north east of the site that we hadnt seen, which included the Services Workshop.
I was suprised by the amount of stuff in these workshops and attaching offices - they were crammed full of bits and bobs. It seems these were the last buildings to have occupants in as there were lots of newspapers lying around from 2004, plus similarly dated food and drinks cartons in the cupboards/fridges/bins. We even found a pack of Smoked Salmon in the freezer... its safe to say that the smell of that will stay with us for a while!
Interesting find was the massive hanger style building directly in front of the Services Workshop, but right next to Security. The doors in here were huuuuuuuge so I assume large machinery was wheeled in here to be tested. Had to be careful as security were milling around outside their hut, which was yards away.
Saw some new Demolition signs up as well - the beginning of the end maybe?
Enjoy.
Memories
All too much...
Communal wash basin in the Workshop toilets
Main workshop
Workshop stuff
'V Signz' office
Naughty naughty...
Noisy
Room full of clothes?
Emergency eye wash station
Discarded propellors
Cooling towers
Hanger style building
Massive doors!
Workers signatures
Cheers.
