Me and the girlfriend regularly go for a break at a hotel not too far from here. We often go too Kenmore for a wander. We were walking through the grounds three years ago and I caught a glimpse of this building. So had to go for a nosey to see it. Sadly we did not have cameras with us. The following year we went back and a load of tree surgeons were working near it, so that put paid to that. So last year we were there and tried again with a bit more luck. We also spotted a stable block hidden well up. I was taking some externals and I noticed a few people walking up the slope, so quickly dashed back in. Found out later it was Brewtal showing a few people it. Sorry I did not realise and sat hello mate ha ha. I was not going to post this as it's a sweet little place. But someone posted it in a FB group, and within a few days it's all over the group's. Even got some fresh graffiti inside which really spoils it.
Set in the beautiful grounds if the beautiful Taymouth castle which is undergoing restoration after years of changing ownership. The castle is set in 450 acres of parkland which is mostly open to the public. It has a golf course, but that is all closed at the min. The castle now is. Built on the site is the original castle built in 1552. It was demolished in the early 19th century and the newer one rebuilt.
I am not sure what this building was used for. It could be for someone who worked the grounds. But I think it was far to lavish for that. Maybe a,family member to live in. Or a retreat for the family, big estates often have retreats to hide away in and look over another view of the estate. But then heard it was called the dairy. But a strange set up for a dairy, but you never know with these rich people.

The house looks like it has had some attempt at restoration. But that has stopped a while ago. The scaffolding has sat in the outside in the three years between visits.

Next up is the stable block. This was the highlight for me. A very old stable block maybe dating back to Victorian times. The wood used for the pillars was thick. Quite a few rooms adjoin the main stable block. If you like old joinery then this place is for you. It was really grand I can imagine once upon a time, and now in a sorry state. It's one of them places you have to see with your own eyes too appreciate it's scale and former grandeur.

Lovely explore. Liking the stable block a lot. So rustic and lovely low chimney. Very charming place. I wonder how often we hide from people on here lol. I know I've bumped into a few. And hidden from a few too. Too only find out later that they are doing the same as me :D

Cool looking place, I did several similar stable blocks up Scotland, I really love the architecture & grandeur of them.
Yeah you get a nice stable block and they can be beautiful to see. I think they are highly under appreciated for the work that goes in them.

The stable block was a real surprise. When in the main part it's like a big hall it's so tall. Ha ha yeah I have run off quickly like that quite a few times. It's ridiculous really ain't it :D :D

This is the former Dairy and Dairy Byre (cowshed) for the Taymouth Castle estate. Great photos! Sad to see it in such a state.
