In the revitalised Brewery Square in Dorchester there are numerous signs relating to what is acceptable behaviour in the area. Someone on the committee that decided on the wording must have had a sense of humour .. something rarely found among council officials!
This memorial plaque was placed by Mursley (Bucks) Parish Council to commemorate VE Day on 8th May 1995. It's in memory of the four airmen who were killed when their Wellington bomber crashed into the water tower in poor visibility on 11th April 1943.
Seems as if the DfT didn't care much either, judging by the slapdash way they've secured the sign, drilling holes right through the legend in two places!
