Report - Teddesley Hall Stables (Staffordshire) - June 2022

Thought I'd post a few pics of a visit myself and a non member friend visited last year, as I haven't seen a post on here as of yet.

A brief history of the hall, grabbed from the Internet:

Teddesley Hall was built some time between 1742 and 1754 by Sir Edward Littleton, 4th baronet, and was designed by Charles Cope Trubshaw of Little Haywood. After the death of the 3rd Baron Littleton in 1930, the Littletons moved to Hatherton Hall.

During the 2nd World War the Hall was requisitioned by troops and as a Prisoner of War camp. It then stood empty until it was demolished in 1954. The service and stable block was retained.

I nearly went here when biking at Cannock early in the year but didnt in the end. its a really impressive set of stable blocks for sure great to see it

Hopefully this year, will be the year mate! I love this sort of period of mansions and stables. They definitely didn't hold back to keep their horses secure.

The bellows would of been fixed directly to the bottom of a forge & foot operated for casting horse shoes & the like I have no doubt.
