Nice pics. Bit of random nonsense- my Grandfather was a Consultant Radiologist, and as part of his private practice- he had the contract to go to the plant, and do medical checks, and chest examinations/ xrays etc for the workers. He had two x-ray machines at home, where he carried out his private practice, in the days that most regional hospitals only had one x-ray machine, and they never worked weekends- he was always on the go! Growing up, it was quite normal for us- but looking back now- he must have been absolutely at the top of his game to have expensive kit like that. (incidentally, they xray machines went to Romania with Challenge Anneka when they did their romania trips to the orphanages, and needed every piece of medical kit they could find.) This would have been 1970's onwards, until late eighties. I remember that he used to get huge rolls of really nice smooth, thick yellow paper- and also giant 'blue' rolls- long before they were 'the norm'. Its a fascinating site, and a great shame that it is closing- think of all that paper that won't get recycled now! Aylesford newsprint and their recycling bins, have been a common site in kent for decades.
