The History…
Browns Service Centre specialised in car mechanics & MOT with an attached car sales room. In 2017, A deliberate blaze was started & the business had nine vehicles destroyed in the flames. Although no info can be found to when Browns closed its doors - the company has since stopped trading & been dissolved.

Attached to the service centre is a very large yard where you can find a mass of damaged & scraped vehicles. From what I have researched the scrap vehicles are owned by the people of the Bickershaw Lane Traveller's site just 5 minuted away - They export the engines & axles from the vehicles while also having a second scrap yard for these on their travelling site. Whether or not all of the vehicles here were brought in by the travelling community or already existed here I cannot be 100% sure but the control of the scrap is now overseen by the licensed travelling site around the corner.

The Explore…
Not a particularly difficult find… you can see this one from the road as you drive past & access wise you can walk straight on in. The only thing worth mentioning is, it is traveller owned/occupied - I didn’t see anyone there in my couple of hours exploring but its worth keeping in mind if you have a look of a scrap metal thief…

Man you need to chill with the hdr

These were shot on my iPhone over my Sony as I didn't have it with me so its a characteristic of that camera which is very HDR heavy...

I didn't realise it was a photography/colour grading forum... I personally prefer to just appreciate a report/the info people found by digging around

but different opinions are what makes the world go round at the end of the day so thanks for the feedback which is always welcome regardless of whether its positive or negative

Interesting collection of old vehicles and vehicle remains.

No idea what has happened, postprocessing, to thoes images. Can't be your iPhone either as the drone photos also look thermonuclear. Not to everyone's taste.

One of the rules of the forum is photos shouldn't be over processed.

I have an HDR mode on my phone camera and it's nowhere near as eye-bleeding as these shots are. Turn off the HDR and they'd be decent shots.

Is this yard part of the derelict car showroom next door? We assumed this was a different premises, when we went here we posted it as blakeleys recycling but weren't really sure tbh. It was hard to find much about it.

honestly cant 100% say... the yard is attached to the car show room as there is an access gate around the side suggesting so - I spoke to the garage across the road & it used to be where the cars for sale would be so it was the original forecourt... but when that ended I am not sure because I cannot find the info about it.. I have seen a few suggestions about blakeleys recycling - but the reason I didn't mention that was because the company is listed as being based at Oakland House on Hope Carr Road & without naming this location that isnt this road so im not 100% sure that it is blakeleys... but whether this site could of previously been blakeleys beforehand could be a different story I just haven't found anything to suggest it was or they was ever based there. 100% the yard is now used by the travelling site as its down on google as being attached to them.. along with their second yard on their site.

yea I did see this - it was the address on companies house that threw me a little as couldn’t find a link to this site but that makes sense now… the plot next to it is down as browns MOT & sales online so again with all the little info is a little confusing

Do we know if it still is owned by Blakeleys or even used by them??

Makes you wonder if the travelling site just claimed the scrap them selves they now have it down as part of their business

Blakeleys was dissolved in 2018. Depending if they owed any money then the site would be owned by their creditors or bank. Not put into administration, so trying to find who owns this site is almost impossible as it may have been bought as cash in hand from travellers, for example, and not recorded anywhere. They are listed as having 9 outstanding charges at time of being dissolved . One of their directors was living at a farm near this site and he probably knows who owns what
