Priddy's Hard

A 200 year old munitions factory that is now going to be for sale, mudlarking along the shore side of the buildings produced two NFS (National Fire Service) buttons and one army service button. Being a former armaments depot for the Royal Navy and British Army, there was evidence of some suspicious items and possible explosives along the Gosport shore. The demand for artillery shells was met with the manufacturing in Priddy's hard since the 1800's.

Nice pics.

The nearby Explosion! (their exclamation mark) Museum of Naval Firepower is worth a look if you're over that way.

The buildings you've captured there have been fenced off for ages pending a decision on sale/re-use so it'll be interesting to see what they do with them. I wouldn't be at all surprised to discover that they're listed or at least protected in some way.

Yes i noticed some parts were on auction - would love to own a piece of history like that! The museum was closed recently due to some works but will definitely visit along with the submarine museum soon. Only reason we didn't enter was because a maintenance guy was in there.
